There were racecars zipping all over Las Vegas over the weekend, but there was one true star of the Formula 1 Grand Prix event: Beyoncé! After taking some time off after the Cowboy Carter tour, the Grammy-winning superstar made a showstopping surprise appearance at the Grand Prix of Las Vegas in a classic manicure that looks just as good on the red carpet as it does on the racetrack.

Beyoncé, who got to take a “hot lap” drive with Ferrari driver Lewis Hamilton during the event, dressed the part in a custom Louis Vuitton catsuit and sparkly helmet, under which she tucked her natural curls. But instead of matching her nails to Ferrari's signature bright cherry red, which would have been the more obvious and expected choice, Bey chose a simple French manicure instead. The versatile manicure, which transcends time and trends, looked extremely cute peeking out from her scarlet leather fingerless driving gloves. Her nails were a medium length and filed into a soft almond shape, with a traditional pinky-nude base and white tip. This just goes to show that a French manicure works for every event and occasion under the sun, including when you're riding in the passenger seat of a race car and flying around the track at 200 miles per hour, which Beyoncé can now say she did!

Beyoncé loves a French manicure, but she doesn't always stick to the classic pink base and white tip. During her Cowboy Carter era, she was all about the “Texan French,” with bright white tips studded with turquoise charms for a Western vibe. Then there was the truly adorable festive, “secret Santa French,” with a hidden holiday detail on her thumbs, and the green-and-yellow combo from 2021 that we're still thinking about nearly five years later. And she's not alone! The French manicure refuses to loosen its grip on our fave celebs. Recently, we've seen Demi Lovato's straight-across take, a microscopic French tip on Kaia Gerber, and a cool colorblock design on Hilary Duff. Is there anything a French manicure can't do?
